Growing Up Around Dentistry

I grew up hearing stories about my grandpa’s dental office, where he would play his guitar for patients while their local anesthesia set in. I later worked as a dental assistant for my uncle, who took over the family practice, and experienced the office atmosphere for myself.

Dr. Eschendal saw how much joy her uncle got from the dental field, as he provided his patients with a rewarding experience and added value to their lives.

For Dr. Eschendal, it was clear that dentistry requires clinical expertise and a strong moral compass to make the best treatment plan individualized for each patient.

Having this opportunity helped me know from an early age that I wanted to pursue dentistry and follow a family tradition.

Education and Memberships

Dr. Eschendal completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she obtained a B.S. in Biology in 2013. She went on to the University of Pittsburgh, where she graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2017.

To advance her network of knowledge and stay up to date on new techniques and technologies, Dr. Eschendal is always seeking continuing education courses. She is trained in non-surgical and non-invasive injectable techniques.

Dr. Eschendal also takes many courses on restorative dentistry to hone her skills and provide patients with the highest quality care. The focus of her practice is on this type of dentistry, including crowns, implant crowns, composite resin restorations, as well as removable partials and dentures.

She is a member of the following:

  • American Academy of Facial Esthetics
  • American Dental Association
  • Wisconsin Dental Association
  • Walworth County Dental Society

Finding Fulfillment Helping Patients

Dr. Eschendal has many patients with dental phobia, and it is fulfilling for her to change someone’s perspective on what going to the dentist can entail. “I make it a priority to provide patients with a positive and fun experience.”

She also finds it rewarding to complete a beautifully executed crown or restoration, knowing she provided a patient with a valuable service. “To see the transformation that happens when a patient completes treatment and develops a better oral care routine is also fulfilling.”

Outside the Practice

When she’s not caring for patients’ smiles, Dr. Eschendal likes spending time with her family in East Troy and enjoys being outdoors or going to the local brewery for the most delicious pizza! She loves to stay active and work out most days to clear her mind.

Having grown up with Alaskan Malamutes, Dr. Eschendal never understood the appeal of cats.

However, I started to feed a stray cat a few years ago, and now he lives with us full time, becoming the most loved member of our family.
