Experience the Convenience of CEREC

Crowns, or “caps” as they are often called, are custom-made covers for teeth that have had a root canal (leaving minimal tooth structure). Crowns also are ideal for cracked teeth or teeth that are severely decayed to the point that a regular filling is insufficient. At Belle City Family Dentistry, we feature same-day crowns. Find out why we choose to offer them!

Just One Visit Is Required

Illustration of dental crownWe understand that you have better things to do than scheduling multiple visits to the dentist’s office. In just one appointment, our dentists can fabricate a dental crown that is just as beautiful and natural-looking as a lab-made crown that you’d have to wait days or weeks for.

A Temporary Dental Crown Isn’t Needed

If you opt for a traditional lab-fabricated crown, your dentist would need to place a temporary crown over your tooth to safeguard your smile between appointments. With a same-day crown, you can quickly return to eating your favorite foods, except for maybe caramel!

Same-Day Crowns Are Fast

With our advanced tooth restoration technology, we can take a digital image of your tooth. That image is then forwarded to our on-site CEREC machine. The machine’s software then creates a 3-D model of this image, which is used to design your dental crown immediately.

Your crown design is then forwarded to a milling machine that will make your replacement tooth. The next step is fitting the crown on your tooth, and making any modifications if necessary. The last step is bonding the crown over your tooth.

Same-Day Crowns Are Durable

You may be wondering if dental crowns made in one dental visit are inferior compared to their traditional counterparts. That’s not the case. Both traditional crowns and CEREC same-day crowns are fabricated from highly durable porcelain. If you take proper care of your dental crown, it should last for many years.
