Meet Kimberly Olesen, DDS

General Dentist and Owner

Dr. Kimberly Oleson

Born and raised in Racine, Dr. Olesen is proud to serve the community she loves. She grew up in a family full of healthcare providers and became intrigued with dentistry after her journey with braces as a child. In high school, she shadowed several local dentists and remained interested in the profession through college.

When it came time to make the decision for her future, Dr. Olesen knew she wanted to pick a profession that would provide her with as many rewards as it did challenges.

Dentistry is an incredibly precise field that allows me to work with my hands daily. My career also gives me the opportunity to have a work-life balance, so that I can spend quality time with my family and enjoy my most favorite job title—mom.

Education & Professional Development

Dr. Olesen achieved the following:

Beyond her considerable academic credentials, Dr. Olesen is a strong believer in life-long learning in order to provide her patients with the best care possible. To date, she has over 500 hours of professional development courses under her belt.

Coinciding with her passion for lifelong learning and innovation, Dr. Olesen is currently pursuing her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. Fewer than 6% of dentists in the nation achieve this honor, and Dr. Olesen anticipates earning her Fellowship in 2024.

In addition to her personal growth and achievement, Dr. Olesen also believes in the power of organized dentistry. This has kept her active in numerous professional organizations throughout her career. Her professional affiliations include:

  • American Dental Association
  • Academy of General Dentistry
  • Wisconsin Dental Association
  • Racine Dental Association

Volunteer & Community Minded

Dr. Olesen actively participates in the Wisconsin Dental Association Foundation’s Donated Dental Services Program – a humanitarian service to the disabled, elderly, and medically compromised. She also volunteers for the Healthcare Network in Racine County to provide free/low-cost dental care to Racine County residents who are of limited income and uninsured.

In looking towards the future of dental care, Dr. Olesen is currently mentoring an awesome dental student through The Marquette University School of Dentistry – Pierre Fauchard Academy – Wisconsin Dental Association Mentor Program. The program works to integrate the dentists of tomorrow with the dental community of today. Through the program, student-protégés obtain counsel and guidance necessary to begin a career in the dental profession.

Helping Patients Achieve Healthy & Beautiful Smiles

Dr. Olesen finds it fulfilling to figure out and address the root cause of patients’ dental problems, to hopefully break the “drill and fill” cycle. “Patients are often surprised to learn that there can be simple solutions to a complex problem! I love that I can offer real, concrete solutions and actually fix things for people daily.”

She also enjoys the aesthetic side of dentistry.

Having confidence in your smile makes a huge difference in people’s lives, and I am glad that I can play a role in helping patients achieve that.

Family & Favorite Activities

Dr. Olesen and her husband, Peter, were both born and raised in Racine. They attended The Prairie School, where they met in sixth grade. Now as parents of three adventurous little boys, there is never a dull (or quiet!) moment in their lives! They both are very passionate and committed to giving back to the community that raised them.

Outside of dentistry and spending time with her family, Dr. Olesen enjoys gardening, which is a recent fascination. She loves sharing this experience with her patients and learning from them to help improve and expand her garden each year! Traveling, baking (she has a serious sweet tooth!), crafting, and organizing are some of her other favorite activities.
